Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser therapy (also called low-level light therapy) uses specific frequencies of red and near-infrared light to promote tissue healing naturally and without the use of drugs. It’s called “cold” because this type of laser does not produce any heat. At Town Center Chiropractic, we use the Medray Prime Class IV laser system, which is a state-of-the-art system that can address problems anywhere in the body.
How It Works
The specific frequencies of light are directed through the skin into the damaged tissues, where they react with the mitochondria of the cells. This reaction stimulates energy production at the cellular level and triggers the body to increase the flow of blood, oxygen and other healing nutrients to the area.
NEW Patients
The sessions are about 20 minutes in length, and most patients experience some relief after the first or second session. It typically takes a series of sessions to achieve full healing.
Who It Helps
Low level light therapy is beneficial in many conditions, including sprain/strain injuries, neuropathy, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, any pain conditions, accident injuries, and even wound healing. Dr. Nicolas has had excellent results with the laser for our patients with neuropathy.
Because this therapy is non-invasive, radiation-free and drug-free, it can be an ideal therapy for pregnant women suffering with neuropathy or other conditions. It’s safe for both you and your baby.
